Stacking

For as long as I’ve done photography, I’ve perpetually wondered how people get their shots sharp from edge-to-edge. With making the switch over to mirrorless I have been watching many more YouTube tutorials simply to get to know my new camera. Well this led me down a huge rabbit hole for which I am incredibly thankful. Because now I know how to photo stack images in order to get that much-desired edge-to-edge sharpness.

Here’s a shot I did at Jordan Lake here in North Carolina. I took about 10 photos for this, each with different focal points, and ended up tossing out the last three or four of them. I didn’t need to align them in photoshop, as these were taken on a tripod on a windless day. With some auto-blending and light post-processing in Lightroom, this is the final image. Sharp from corner to corner.

Let me know if you have any questions or tips regarding this technique!
